sneetches

The moral of this story by Dr.Seuss is it dosn't matter who you are we are all equal. This story is a story about a group of creatures called sneetches that have problems with equality. The story starts out by highlighting the fact that the sneetches with stars on their bellies are the ones who believe they are the best. You see a mum/dad sneetch telling their kids not to play with people who don't have them on theirs. This is very moving as it makes you think of racism.It also shows how kids will almost always listen to their parents at a very young age. The story then continues,highlighting the fact that the sneetches without stars on their bellies are shunned out of every occasion and are made to feel inferior to the sneetches with stars on their bellies. This reminds me of the school playground, for example if you look different as a kid to other kids at school because you have a deformity or if your a minority you are seen as a lesser being and made to feel bad about yourself. The story then changes as a stranger approaches the beach with a solution to help the sneetches without stars on their bellies feel accepted. The stranger has a contraption that modifies the sneetches with out stars by putting stars on their bellies for financial gain. This reminds me of the media and how they make money by making people think they have to change the way they look by changing their appearances just to fit in, for example the way the media makes you think that if you do not look a certain way you are not as good as others.The media does this by choosing the people that look a certain way or by photoshopping the hell out of people to look a certain way ( the ideological look of beauty ) for girls its normally blonde hair and thin and for guys its tall and muscly. This makes kids believe that they are not good enough if they don't look like this. This causes kids to act a certain way,bully other kids,change their appearances and even in some cases suicide,all because kids dont feel like they fit in. Getting back to the story, The sneetches that had the stars on their bellies at first find out that the sneetches without stars on their bellies have them on theirs,they are not happy about this so they have a meeting with the stranger. The stranger tells them not to worry as he has a contraption that can change their appearances so they can tell who is who again.They all are very excited and they all rush to the new contraption that takes the stars off their bellies.When they get out they are all very delighted as they can tell who is who again thus making them think they are the better sneetches again and making the other ones feel crap again. Then the story changes as all the sneetches keep going in and out of both of the contraptions until they have used all their money. The stranger laughs and tells them that they will never learn. The stranger is very wrong as the sneetches can not tell apart who is who and on that day they get very smart and decide that sneetches are sneetches and that no kind of sneetch is a bad kind of sneetch. This remindes me of anti bullying classes and anti racial classes etc.. thus showing kids in a very fun a enjoyable way that it does not matter what you look like as we are all the same on the inside.

proposal

Object I propose to write a essay on how the production of animation can change someones actions ,views and morals. ------------------------------------------------- proposal 1.For this project research will be undertaken into how animation can change peoples actions and views.Animation festivals and cinemas/films will be used for inspiration and will help in the creation of questionnaires ,this will lead to new primary research. Books about animations with morals and violence will also be investigated. ---------------------------------------------------- 2.Flash and drawing like a animator will be key to the development of this project, learning about proportion drawing and the ins and outs of flash will give this project a overall better finish. Script and voice acting will play a vital role in this project, all the voices and sound effects will be done by me so this will be practiced. Other research techniques that animators use will be investigated thoroughly to create a faster and more unique piece of work,this will also speed up the process whilst keeping a high standard of work.Music choice will play a vital role in this project so this will need to be researched.The main sources of information needed will be obtained from youtube,books and digital tutors. ------------------------------------------------- 3.The creative practice will be created after a story board and script is created.Research into how to create characters and stories that have depth will be thoroughly investigated . Museums will play a vital part in this project as they will be needed to gather photos of armour,animals and props etc.., to help inspiration. -------------------------------------------------- 4.The main animations that will be looked into will be ones by doctor sues.When I was growing up i watched and read a lot of books that he created. They were very interesting and most of the morals from the books and films defiantly stuck with me. They stuck into my mind as they were very charismatic,funny and contained a wide range of characters that kept me interested and entertained. This is something that i want my animation to give off so i will need to look into how i can do this. Cartoon violence in animations like the looney tunes,family guy,itchy and scratchy etc..will be looked into and research will about why it is so tolerated will also be research. Further more propaganda animations that where created to change peoples minds during the war about jews and animations like animal farm will be investigated as they have defiantly played a vital role in the morals and actions of people.

proposal

proposal level 4----I created a scene in a film i made called isolation using just photos,I combined them all together on final cut pro to make it look like video.I may use this technique to create a new scene. level 5---Made a short film with a go pro.I researched into camera angles and how the film maker has the power to change the perception of a shot depending on where he places the camera or what shot he takes.I also looked into how the editor has the power to change the feel of a scene by using after effects and final cut pro. ----------------------------------------------------------- I propose to write a essay on how the production of film (cinema) can change someones actions and views on crime and violence and make a film that will synthesise with it. ----------------------------------------------------------- 1.For my project i will need to undertake research into how film can change peoples actions and views on crime and violence by giving out questionnaires,going to a boxing fight or something along them lines to shoot some footage of violence for inspiration for my film. I will read into and watch documentaries about peoples views on how Watching violent films and peoples thoughts about if films really can make people more aggressive. In my opinion i believe they do this by making bad guys and women in film the heroes in the viewers eyes and by making you feel emotionally attached to them. ------------------------------------------------------------ 2.I will need to expand my knowledge on video cameras by learning about shutter speeds and all the other functions that will become useful when filming. I will need to learn more about what lighting is needed in different types of shots to pull off a good final piece of work(i will rent one from the college),I need to learn how to write a script and about camera shots, I will look this up in books and on youtube.I will also have a look at other techniques that videographers use like inserts that break up long shots and what music you use in certain situations etc.. ------------------------------------------------------------ 3.For the preparation of my creative practice I will need to do a storyboard with a script and will need to look into how to create a costumes for a character that i create,how to make realistic props,Look around for places to shoot scenes,find actors and finally i will need to get better at using final cut pro and after effects to finish my film to a higher standard.In addition i will be looking at a lot of tutorials on digital tutors and youtube to help me prepare for my editing. ----------------------------------------------------------- 4. I will look at a lot of films about crime and violence to get some inspiration for my creativity.I want to look into guy Ritchie films and Quentin tarantino films the most as i am a really big fan of theirs and would like my film to give off a similar effect of brilliance.When i watch films i will take down notes and screen shots/photos to document my findings to inspire me to create a very creative piece of work. ------------------------------------------------------------ Problems I will need to find actors and money might become a issue.
